aft de match, lepak2.
went to elias mall mac. mega macspicy. again. haha. gerek sia. me n nash took our own sweet time to eat.
went back to sch. de meridian soccer girls were preparing themselves for their match. for which we r coming down to support. home tickets were sold out. all bought by me, nash n obaje. hahaha. dried my clothes during their warm-up. dun wanna stink de bag. de drying up looks disgusting though. haha. clothes hanging frm de stands. wth.
so de stage was set. meridian soccer girls vs australian international school.
de aussies played really well. 4-4-2 diamond at it's best. very tactical. my style. n dey were gd individually as well. kick lik guys sia. crossing semua sebat sio. nice. even their sub-tactics were v gd. catching de meridians off guard. nice ah.
mjc had little room to play their game. which was, of course, 'english'. run n chase. de aussies were faster at picking up loose mjc passes. space was tight. crowded. almost 3:1 marking. 3-5-2 formation proved too radical for 'english style' playing. defensive box-overload tactic, however, did prove effective as it helped block some australian shots. cud hav conceded more w/o it. a brave fight put up nontheless. nice wan girls.
riots almost broke out at halftime when loyal mjc supporter, farshad chand, had to leave de stadium to attend shooting training. b4 leaving, he did manage to deliver some words of encouragement. "if liverpool can do it, so can we!". (liverpool came back from a 3-0 scoreline at halftime against ac milan to win the champions league in 2006).
it was, unfortunately, a feat un-achieveable by de meridians. final scoreline, Meridian Soccer Girls 0-8 Australian International School.
